This evening I am thankful for many things. Thankful for American friends who live close by and have taught my Mr and I all about Thanksgiving and helped us to appreciate how difficult it must be to live in a country (the UK in this example), that doesn’t celebrate a holiday that is such a major part of US culture. It’s hard for them but we have a special surprise lined up to show them how thankful we are for them and are glad that they now live in the UK.
I’m also thankful for my husband’s amazing grandpa who sadly died last week. We are comforted in the fact that we believe he is in a far better place now with Jesus but it is still sad. His marriage to my husband’s granny was an amazing one – they loved each other so much. He even planned for a love poem to be read out as part of the funeral as a special message to her on his funeral day. She had no idea, he had planned it in secret with the vicar a while before he died. It sent me over the edge I can tell you that!
So it’s been a tough time around here lately but we look forward to the week ahead with hope that things will soon start to get easier.
Have a good Monday folks,
